A child's dream

A child dreamt war
With paper airplanes and boats
Bombs that fell in little ponds
Making ripples with the little rocks of the road
A child dreamt death
Lying on asphalt
On a spring morning
Laughing in loud laughter
After falling with the preceding “bang bang”
A child dreamt the world finished
But an adult dreamt too of war
With airplanes and bombs
He destroyed the ponds and roads
An adult dreamt of death
And over the pavement a child fell
With a lost bullet
And there were no more dreams
Or more paper boats sailing
Over little ponds in the asphalt
And the world ended
When the child couldn’t dream anymore.

Un niño soñó la guerra
Con aviones y barquitos de papel,
Bombas que caían en pequeños charcos
Haciendo círculos con guijarros del camino
Un niño soñó la muerte
Tendido sobre el asfalto,
En las mañanas de privamera
Ríendo a carcajadas
